Celebrate World Art Day with us

It’s World Art Day on 15 April 2021, a celebration of the fine arts, raising awareness of creative activity worldwide.

Celebrate with creative craft, art and design level 1 award. This is a 13-week online course starting on Friday, 23 April. It will give you an insight of the skills and knowledge you need to be working in art and design.

About creative craft art and design course

You will explore different art and design materials, resources, tools and equipment. You will also see the art and design work of specialists to develop sufficient skills and knowledge to take your own ideas forward. You will plan, prepare and review an art and design item choosing your materials and techniques and following health and safety procedures.

This course can help you to:

  • develop basic skills in art and design
  • gain underpinning knowledge of the craft process for art and design
  • get a basis for progression into further study in art and design
  • develop a portfolio of work in art and design
  • understand how to use materials, tools and equipment correctly and safely
  • understand health and safety considerations surrounding art and design.

What can the course help me achieve?

The creative craft, art and design level 1 award will help you develop and demonstrate a variety of transferable skills that employers would welcome, such as:

  • Reflective practice
  • Self-assessment
  • Target setting
  • Receiving and giving feedback
  • Presentation skills.

This qualification can help you to apply your skills and talents in a job role. It can lead to job opportunities in junior roles in textile design, web design, printing, production design, photography, make-up, jewellery, illustration, graphic design or fine art.
